The speaking assessments form 30% of the French GCSE.

You will complete 4 speaking assessments – one from each of the 4 themes.
Each assessment must last 3-6 minutes.
They can be in the form of:
• a presentation on a topic with some follow up questions
• a discussion about a picture
• a roleplay
They will all be recorded and the best 2 sent to the exam board.

The speaking themes are:

• Media and Culture
• Sport and Leisure
• Travel and Tourism
• Business, Work and Employment

TOP TIPS
>Read the instructions on the task carefully - it will provide you with lots of clues such as the tense you should be using, whether the dialogue will be formal (vous) ot informal (tu).

>Listen carefully for the question word in French, within context you should be able to make a reasonable answer.

> If you don't understand the question ask the teacher to repeat it:
